Assistant Teacher 3-6

The Goddard School in Macomb, MI is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom, and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment for children ages 3-6. This full-time role is part of a supportive, collaborative team focused on early childhood education.

What You Will Do

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement, prepare classroom materials, supervise and provide individualized support, assist in communicating with families about progress and daily activities, adhere to health and safety guidelines, and support daily care routines.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children

• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
