Job Description
Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens seeks an Assistant Teacher Head Start to assist the Teacher in planning and executing age and developmentally appropriate activities reflecting the Montessori curriculum. Responsibilities include maintaining written documentation, facilitating parent involvement, and promoting positive growth and professional development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 30 college credits
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or 60 credits including 24 credits in Education
  • CDA preferred
  • 2 years of teaching experience in a preschool classroom preferred
  • Montessori trained or commitment to complete training program within first year of hire
  • Bilingual Spanish/English; Russian/English; Chinese/English; Korean/English; English/Creole speaking preferred
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed
