Role Overview

The Associate Attorney will participate in all stages of cases, make court appearances, and develop case-specific defense strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting critical motions, taking and defending depositions, and participating in pretrial motions and discovery disputes. The Associate Attorney will work in a team of seasoned attorneys handling toxic tort cases and civil litigation.

What You Will Do

Manage a caseload of litigated claims, prepare them for trial, attend depositions, hearings, and/or mediations, analyze discovery, medical records, expert defense strategy, and motion practice, research legal issues, and draft briefs, memos, and client updates.

The ideal candidate will be actively licensed and in good standing with the State of New York, have 3-6 years of experience in defense litigation, and substantial deposition experience. Requirements

  • Actively licensed and in good standing with the State of New York
  • New Jersey license STRONGLY preferred in addition to NY
  • 3-6 years’ experience in defense litigation, with toxic tort experience a plus
  • Substantial deposition experience
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
  • Client-focused mentality
  • Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing priorities and understand the importance of deadlines
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a strong team
