Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Buildings Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Black & Veatch. This role will give you the opportunity to ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards, assist in the production of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables, and act as a key coordinator with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on projects.

Requirements

  • Assist in the production of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables
  • Actively coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on projects
  • Oversee the creation and analysis of project energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis utilizing Trace 3D and BLCC
  • Oversee creation of 2D drawings (such as P&IDS, control diagrams, and notes) in REVIT
  • Perform construction period services (review of submits, responses to RFI's etc)
  • Continues to learn and remains current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures.
  • Prepares a variety of increasingly complex engineering deliverables.
  • Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • May recognize, define and resolve problems within assigned area.
  • May provide direction and guidance to others.
  • Assigns tasks to develop entry level professionals and interns.
  • Coordinates with project leadership and other internal/external team members on less complex projects.
  • Interacts as needed with other disciplines on details of design work.
  • Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
  • As skills develop, may assist with performance management process, recognition, and any corrective actions required.
  • Actively mentors entry level professionals and interns.
