Role Overview

The Associate Director, Financial Operations & Services manages key operational processes and staff-facing financial services within Development Finance, including transactional processes, financial approvals and reporting, and policy guidance and implementation. Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, this role promotes efficient, consistent, and service-oriented practices while maintaining effective internal controls. The Associate Director partners with MGB Development Office staff and Mass General Brigham enterprise colleagues to improve financial processes, strengthen service delivery, and support responsible stewardship of organizational resources.

What You Will Do

Manage assigned areas of day-to-day financial operations to ensure financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable requirements. Provide guidance and support on financial processes, requirements, and available resources to MGB Development Office staff. Monitor service needs, recurring issues, and workload trends and recommend improvements to processes and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Experience managing financial or administrative processes within a complex organization
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing staff, including supporting employee performance and professional development
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial policies, approval processes, documentation requirements, compliance practices, and internal controls
  • Experience developing procedures, policy guidance, training resources, or staff communications
  • Strong organizational, analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements, support organizational change, and manage competing priorities
