Role Overview

The Assistant Director of Sales (ADOS) is a senior-level sales leadership position at Dream Downtown, a design-driven boutique hotel in New York's Meatpacking District. This role reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) and is designed for an experienced hospitality sales professional ready to expand leadership capabilities. The ADOS balances active selling and direct revenue production with day-to-day leadership and administrative oversight of the Sales department.

What You Will Do

Carry and achieve an assigned Major Market group sales quota as a core individual production responsibility, personally prospecting, soliciting, negotiating, closing, and growing group business. Lead, coach, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team while fostering accountability and professional development. Foster strong partnerships between the Sales team and operational departments, collaborating with Revenue Management, Events, Food & Beverage, and others to ensure seamless execution of business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, carrying a sales quota, and achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Demonstrated experience producing Major Market group business and managing a group sales pipeline from prospecting through conversion and execution.
  • Experience within an upscale, luxury, lifestyle, or boutique hotel environment preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience with demonstrated success coaching, training, mentoring, and developing sales professionals.
  • Experience managing key sales processes, including account qualification, referral generation, prospecting, business development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Strong understanding of hotel sales strategy, revenue management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to foster strong internal and external partnerships and create meaningful connections with clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments, influence outcomes through cross-functional relationships, and foster a culture of partnership, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Experience supporting administrative functions, including payroll administration, scheduling, time-off management, colleague development, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as hotel sales and CRM systems.
  • High-energy, results-driven, self-motivated leader with a passion for hospitality, exceptional customer service, and colleague development.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, ownership groups, and executive leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
  • Ability to maintain a full-time onsite presence and serve as a visible, engaged leader for the Sales team.
