Role OverviewThe Associate General Counsel will provide advice and support on legal, regulatory, and general corporate matters for Neuberger's institutional asset management business. The position will primarily support a U.S. registered investment adviser/commodities trading adviser with a broad range of strategies and products. What You Will Do
The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for structuring, forming, advising, and providing ongoing support with respect to private funds, including open-ended funds, closed-end funds, and funds-of-one. They will also advise on investment advisory services to institutional separate account clients, negotiate investment advisory agreements, and review requests for proposals and client questionnaires.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have at least 8-10 years' experience, including 5+ years within the fund formation group of a large law firm, and extensive knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and other regulatory frameworks. They will be able to communicate effectively with senior management and investment professionals and work independently to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- At least 8-10 years' experience, including 5+ years within the fund formation group of a large law firm
- Extensive knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and applicability of other regulatory frameworks to private funds
- Familiarity with ERISA is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
