Role OverviewThe Associate Laboratory Microbiologist will supervise laboratory staff, manage daily operations, and ensure regulatory and safety standards are followed. The role requires experience in a clinical or environmental diagnostic testing laboratory and supervising in an environmental laboratory setting. The position is part of the NYC Public Health Laboratory, which provides clinical and environmental laboratory testing services to support the health and safety of NYC residents.
What You Will Do
The Associate Laboratory Microbiologist will perform high and moderate complexity laboratory testing, generate and release reports, and maintain records. They will also supervise laboratory staff, train and evaluate their performance, and prioritize and schedule work to optimize operational service.

Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in medical technology or in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences
- One year of laboratory experience at the technologist level in the appropriate laboratory specialty or specialties
- Possess or be eligible for a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
