Job Description
The Associate Professor position is a 12-month, full-time faculty appointment focused on teaching, advising, service, and scholarship. The ideal candidate demonstrates teaching excellence, mentoring skills, a growth mindset, and a collaborative attitude. Responsibilities include providing student instruction, evaluating student performance, providing academic counseling, and participating in program evaluation.

Requirements

  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Associate/Assistant, MD, or DO
  • Current NCCPA certification for PAs (PA-C Emeritus acceptable) or current board certification for physicians
  • Master's degree in either healthcare or education, doctoral degree preferred
  • 3 or more years of clinical experience
  • Strong computer skills and adaptability in learning new software/online platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with students and faculty
  • Strong interpersonal skills with students, program faculty and staff, and clinical staff
  • Excellent critical thinking, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Superior organization skills
  • Ability to confidently interact as a leader, team member, and collaborative contributor with other departments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and successfully meet deadlines
