Job Description
The Attorney 1 role at the State Board of Education involves conducting legal research, writing reports, and responding to law-related inquiries in a timely and confidential manner.

Requirements

  • Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code
  • Conducting legal research and writing reports
  • Responding to law-related inquiries in a timely and confidential manner
  • Assisting staff attorneys in investigations on cases involving professional misconduct of educators
  • Drafting, analyzing and reviewing subpoenas and public records requests
  • Preparing cases for administrative review of disciplinary action
  • Attending administrative hearings
  • Reviewing hearing officer reports and recommendations
  • Responding to inquiries from agency employees, government officials and the public
