Job Description
The Attorney 1 is a key role at the State Board of Education, responsible for conducting legal research, responding to law-related inquiries, and assisting staff attorneys in investigations.

Requirements

  • Conducting legal research and writing reports
  • Responding to law-related inquiries in a timely and confidential manner
  • Assisting staff attorneys in investigations on cases involving professional misconduct of educators
  • Drafting, analyzing and reviewing subpoenas and public records requests
  • Preparing cases for administrative review of disciplinary action
  • Attending administrative hearings
  • Reviewing hearing officer reports and recommendations
  • Responding to inquiries from agency employees, government officials and the public
