Attorney III

The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a well-qualified, experienced candidate to join our Legal Division as an Attorney III. This position will serve as an Attorney III for the agency, promulgate rules and regulations, serve as the staff attorney to the divisions of the DMV, review data audits for compliance with federal and Nebraska law, contracts for the agency, human resource matters, and perform assigned duties by Agency Legal Counsel.

What You Will Do

Draft proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommended orders for the Director. Provide legal support to the Financial Responsibility Division. Review all federal laws and maintain compliance with all federal requirements. Review compliance of all persons and entities requesting and assessing agency data for federal and Nebraska statutory law compliance.

Requirements

• Three years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies.
• Admitted to the Nebraska Bar.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle laws, contracts, human resource matters, administrative hearings and procedures, and rules and regulations promulgation.
