Role OverviewAssists a certified teacher in supervising and instructing Special Education students with Autism Spectrum and other related disabilities. Provides individualized instructional programs, accommodates students' needs, and implements positive behavior supports. Supports students' generalization of skills into general education settings and provides social skills support.
What You Will Do
Assist students with academic and non-academic subjects, monitor administration of student testing, assist with development and presentation of learning materials, and perform various clerical duties. Maintain student records, files, and data collection. Provide specialized health care services as prescribed by a physician.

Requires knowledge of Autism and related disabilities, behavioral supports, and strategies. Ability to assume responsibility for monitoring students, learn and utilize behavioral management methods, and engage with alternative/augmentative communication systems.
Requirements
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
- Some paid or volunteer clerical experience or work with children in an educational or child care setting
- Experience in working with children on the Autism spectrum or with related disorders
- First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate
- Pass the District's adopted Proficiency Examination with a satisfactory score
