Role OverviewThe Automation Specialist position is a member of the SYD Intelligent Devices Team or the Software and Controls Team and is a primary technical owner of assigned Industrial Automation product categories including Rockwell Automation. This team member will work cooperatively with the supporting sales team on strategic planning and leveraging emerging technologies to grow our customer base and resulting sales revenue.
What You Will Do
This unique role takes on many different forms throughout the entire life cycle of the automation solutions provided to customers. The Automation Specialist will work directly with customers on technical and commercial pre/post sales engagements, monitor customer profitability within the Automation market with the use of Business Intelligence tools, and support pricing strategies with technical and relationship knowledge that drive business growth.

Requirements
- Experience in engineering, design and/or integration of Industrial Automation and Control technologies
- Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications, electrical schematics, and PLC programs
- Strong Industrial Automation troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrates technical and business acumen with a focus on the correlation of outcomes and solutions to sales
- Strong communication skills including presenting, training, and corresponding with all levels of manufacturing personnel
- Ability to collaborate with sales teams, technical teams, and vendor representatives
- Ability to negotiate effectively at a high level and build strong relationships with customers and vendors
- Excellent customer service skills and a strong customer focus
