Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking an Automotive Mechanic 2 to repair and maintain vehicles and equipment at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. The position requires considerable knowledge of auto mechanics and the ability to work under general supervision. The job involves performing repairs and replacements of major parts, performing preventive maintenance, and inspecting vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

  • Repairs and replaces major parts of systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Performs preventive maintenance and service
  • Inspects underbody and brakes for leaks, loose or worn components
  • Repairs, rebuilds and/or replaces major parts
  • Maintains records of repairs and maintenance
  • Orders and/or picks up parts
  • Provides service and repair of vehicles and equipment on emergency basis
  • Operates welding equipment
  • Mows grass and/or operates snowplow, tow truck or other equipment
  • Pumps gasoline
  • Attends training schools and annual training
