Job Description
Skilled mechanical work at the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of fire apparatus, including various makes and models of pumpers and ladders and rescue trucks.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience as an automotive, diesel engine and heavy equipment, or fire apparatus mechanic within the past five years at the journeyman level.
  • At least one (1) of the three years of experience must be as a fire apparatus mechanic.
  • The journeyman experience must include at least two years of apprenticeship experience working under a trained mechanic and at least one year of experience working independently as a lead mechanic.
