Job Description
The Assistant Warehouse Manager will serve as a backup for the General Manager on all phases of the operation, responsible for daily activities of the distribution center, including shipping, receiving, replenishment, maintenance, inventory, and employee scheduling.
Requirements
Schedule of: 11am to 9pm
Maintain the appropriate amount of staffing to accomplish the required production goals for warehouse activities.
Ensure all employees have been trained in each function they perform.
Daily review, coordination and inspection of shipping and receiving activities.
Ensure Distribution Center employees are following work instructions and all orders, picked inventory and shipments are handled correctly.
Ensure cycle counts are being performed of the warehouse inventory each month.
Manage sites open order report is reflective of current orders and updates are sent on ordered that have already processed.
Monitor and manage the day-to-day operation of the packaging employees, system and work area.
Ensure that all related production documentation is correct and turned-in in a timely manner.
Schedule material deliveries for production requirements.
Ensure that all safety and production procedures are being followed.
Prepare and execute a compressive preventive maintenance schedule for all operating equipment.
Routinely evaluate maintenance items and review for trends/ reoccurring items and develop plan for permanently correcting items.
Supervise any outside maintenance work and contractors.
Ensure that all safety procedures are being followed during any machine outage and/or maintenance.
Order and maintain spare parts for the related equipment.
Maintain a clean work environment and ensure that all employees keep excellent housekeeping practices in all operational areas.
Must be willing and able to operate heavy machinery (ie. Forklift, etc.), as needed. Prior certification not needed, but must pass a compliance exam prior to operating.
Ensure all employees operate in compliance OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Partner with onsite Human Resources representative with following action items: safety meetings, training, and discipline for any violations of company policies or law.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
