Role OverviewThe Head of Lab Technology Platforms will support the strategic and operational advancement of Baylor Genetics' laboratory technology infrastructure. This role will focus on optimizing bioinformatics pipelines, data systems and LIMS, and facilitating QA, QM activities to ensure scalable, efficient, and compliant genomic computational operations.
What You Will Do
Deploy software tools, monitor system performance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, oversee deployment and integration of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), implement and support data analysis tools, and ensure lab technology platforms adhere to regulatory standards.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Strong bioinformatics knowledge, strong genomics knowledge, strong production pipeline knowledge, and strong communication skills are required. Experience in production environment in both on-prem HPC and cloud computing, and familiarity with high throughput genomic technologies and wet-lab workflow are preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
- Strong software engineering skills and strong project management experience
- Familiar with bioinformatics and genomics pipelines
- Experience in production environment in both on-prem HPC and cloud computing
- Familiar with high throughput genomic technologies
- Familiar with wet-lab workflow
- Strong communication skills
