Backend Engineer

We are seeking a Backend & Cloud Engineer to help build and maintain a proprietary technology platform that connects cloud services, mobile applications, and connected hardware systems. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and securing backend services and cloud infrastructure while supporting the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.

What You Will Do

Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using modern Java-based technologies. Architect, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure, databases, and integrations between software platforms and connected devices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with Java-based frameworks and cloud technologies
• Strong experience designing APIs, service-oriented architectures, and scalable backend systems
• Professional experience with Java and/or Kotlin in production environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and containerized application deployment
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including performance optimization and security best practices
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, identity management, and messaging technologies
• Experience building reliable, fault-tolerant systems and troubleshooting application and infrastructure performance issues
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, automated testing, and modern software delivery practices
• Experience integrating software systems with external devices, hardware platforms, or other complex third-party systems
• Experience working in highly regulated, quality-focused, or mission-critical environments
• Previous experience mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, or overseeing external development resources
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
