Role OverviewPeraton is seeking a full-time background investigator near Charlotte, NC. The investigator will be responsible for conducting background investigations, scheduling and conducting face-to-face interviews, and performing record searches. The role requires daily travel and the ability to work independently as part of a team.

The investigator will be responsible for the following tasks: conducting background investigations, scheduling and conducting face-to-face interviews, performing record searches, typing and reporting information in a clear and concise report, and working independently as part of a team.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree, and experience conducting federal background investigations is preferred. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance and have a valid driver's license and full-time usage of reliable transportation.
Requirements
- 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree
- Experience conducting federal background investigations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Valid driver's license and full-time usage of reliable transportation
- Accurate and efficient typing capabilities (40+ WPM recommended)
- Ability to speak for extended periods of time and hear sufficiently to communicate in person and over the phone
- Proficient grammar and writing skills in order to submit high-quality reports with minimal or no errors
- Ability to interact professionally with others
- Maintain high level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity
- Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, endure long periods of standing, and drive in adverse and/or night conditions
