Role Overview

Peraton is seeking a full-time background investigator near Seattle, WA. The investigator will be responsible for conducting background investigations, performing record searches, and typing and reporting information in a clear and concise report. The investigator will work independently while also being a member of a team of investigators and a field manager.

The investigator will conduct in-person background investigations, perform record searches, and type and report information in a clear and concise report. They will also travel daily and work independently while being a member of a team of investigators and a field manager.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree, with experience conducting federal background investigations preferred. They must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance and have U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

  • 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree
  • Experience conducting federal background investigations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Daily travel required locally and outside of primary work area as needed
  • Home office required
  • Valid driver's license and full-time usage of reliable transportation
  • Accurate and efficient typing capabilities (40+ WPM recommended)
  • Ability to speak for extended periods of time and hear sufficiently to communicate in person and over the phone
  • Proficient grammar and writing skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with others
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality ethics and integrity
  • Professional attire required
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, endure long periods of standing and drive in adverse and/or night conditions
