Role OverviewThe Bank Account and Disbursement Auditor will perform high-level audits, prepare/review voucher requests, maintain records, and reconcile funds disbursed or deposited into DSS/HRA/DHS bank accounts for the Cash Assistance program. The tasks are a critical part of guaranteeing our Agency complies with the Office of the Comptroller’s annual audit.
What You Will Do
Prepare Agency’s public assistance bank accounts, analyze issuances and disbursements, reconcile accounts, post monthly issuances and disbursements to manual and automated ledgers, conduct detailed reviews of cost allocations, and liaise with various banking institutions and state and local agencies.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field, experience in performance auditing, financial auditing, internal auditing, and/or information technology auditing, and strong analytical and communication skills.
Requirements
- baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- 24 semester credits in auditing, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, law, quantitative or qualitative research methodology, mathematics, data science, management, public or business administration, computer science/information technology, or a related field
- one year of full-time satisfactory experience in performance auditing, financial auditing, internal auditing, and/or information technology auditing
- valid Certified Public Accountant license issued by the New York State Education Department
- valid Certified Internal Auditor certificate issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
