Job Description
Banquet Cook sought to work in a high-volume kitchen environment, preparing banquet menu items and assisting with mise en place and setup for events. Must have 2-3 years of professional culinary experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain proper food handling and sanitation procedures is required.

Requirements

  • Reports to the Sous Chef or Banquet Chef to receive daily production objectives, assignments, and priorities.
  • Reviews banquet menus, setup requirements, and preparation methods prior to service.
  • Prepares and cooks banquet menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Operates banquet cooking equipment, including ovens, ranges, griddles, steamers, and warming units.
  • Performs batch cooking, including sauces, soups, proteins, vegetables, and garnishes, to meet large-scale service needs.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Follows proper food handling, storage, labeling, and FIFO rotation procedures.
  • Ensures proper temperatures for cooking, holding, and serving banquet items.
  • Maintains awareness of food allergies and ensures proper labeling and separation of allergens.
  • Assists with opening and closing duties for banquet kitchens and service areas.
  • Supports the kitchen team to ensure smooth execution of banquet events.
  • Demonstrates proper knife skills, safe food preparation techniques, and knowledge of large-scale cooking methods.
  • Works efficiently under pressure to meet high-volume service timelines.
  • Participates in daily line-ups and communicates effectively with team members and banquet leadership.
  • Maintains professional appearance, good personal hygiene, and dependable attendance.
