Role OverviewThe Banquet Sous Chef manages a specific department within the culinary division at Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, working with the Executive Chef and/or Executive Sous Chef to create, implement, and maintain quality standards. The role involves monitoring daily functions of the culinary department, providing support and guidance to the team, and ensuring a positive guest experience. In the absence of senior leadership, the Sous Chef may be responsible for the entire operation.
What You Will Do
Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities, and act as a liaison between all departments within the culinary division and other hotel departments. Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items, develop and implement creative menu items adhering to Hyatt brand standards, and plan, coordinate, and implement special events and holiday functions. Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating, and hiring, and may oversee other key culinary leadership roles including supervisors and less senior Sous Chefs.
