Role OverviewThe Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for providing academic, social, physical, and skill development for students in specific grades/subject areas. The tutor will work with small groups of students and individuals, reinforcing knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher. The tutor will also assist with academic instruction and daily routines, skills, and concepts as needed.
What You Will Do
Generate tutoring plans, assess and document student progress, develop and assist students with academic exercises and class activities, compile and organize materials and classroom for instruction, and collect and compile statistical data for accountability and program development.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid, have a strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers, and have experience working with children in an educational setting.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours)
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test
- One (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
