Behavioral Aide Acute, PM

The Behavioral Aide Acute, PM is responsible for providing basic observation and monitoring of consumers on assigned units, monitoring consumers' behavior daily, and communicating changes and/or patterns in behavior to clinical staff. The role involves deescalating crisis situations through the use of mindset principles while effectively communicating with other staff members. The goal is for each patient to return to home or to the least restrictive level of care.

What You Will Do

Provides ongoing monitoring of consumers, engages consumers to ensure their safety, needs are met, and participation in planned activities is occurring. Assists consumers with personal hygiene issues, medical appointments, chores, recreational activities, and safety issues. Provides support to teachers during class time and ensures unit schedules are followed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to deescalate crisis situations through the use of mindset principles
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with the treatment team
• Ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and deescalate or resolve the situation
