Role OverviewThe Clinician for La Jornada works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and youth for the assigned program. This position works closely with children, youth, foster parents, and community partners, providing assessments, counseling, advocacy, mental health stabilization and support toward the goal of unification with a sponsor family and living safely and successfully in the community.
What You Will Do
Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies. Provide child-facing services on-site. Conduct mental health assessments; and provide ongoing individual and group counseling services, as well as provide crisis intervention if needed.

Must be bilingual English/Spanish fluency required to serve the children and families. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure. A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours with a possibility of being on call on nights/weekends.
Requirements
- Master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline in which clinical experience is a program requirement.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required to serve the children and families.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours with a possibility of being on call on nights/weekends, in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and people served.
- Must be able to organize, navigate, and physically escort youth to various travel destinations possibly including airlines, trains, and buses.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
- 21 years of age, a valid state driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
