Role OverviewThe Teacher Assistant-Bilingual will provide bilingual instructional assistance in the classroom by assisting with various activities, preparing instructional materials, presenting classroom instruction, and supervising students. The role is consistent with state statutes, regulations, and good educational practices.
What You Will Do
Provide academic assistance to students, confer with teachers, assist with evaluating student progress, and perform various clerical duties. Translate for non-English speaking parents and assist with ESOL eligibility testing.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate is sensitive to other cultures, able to work with students, and has computer skills. Experience working with children is preferred.
Requirements
- Standard high school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of the Teacher Assisting Curriculum
- Ability to speak, read, and write English and Spanish
- Computer skills
- Sensitivity to other cultures
