Role OverviewWe are looking for an organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to manage billing processes and claims submissions. The billing specialist will be responsible for reporting expiration of patient authorizations, recording/maintaining adjustment spreadsheets, and managing assigned accounts.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include medical AR follow-up procedures, data entry of charges and billing of claims, analyzing and auditing accounts, submitting and reviewing outstanding claims, reconciling accounts, and receiving and placing calls to resolve insurance/patient claims.

This role requires strong working knowledge of Texas Medicaid, Medi-Cal, managed care, and commercial plans, as well as experience in medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, CPT codes, UB04, and 1500 claim forms. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
- Previous physician office/hospital billing experience required (5-years' experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Texas Medicaid, Medi-Cal, managed care, and commercial plans
- Experience in medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, CPT codes, UB04, and 1500 claim forms
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Compliance with all billing related HIPAA policies, along with internal policies/procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
