Role Overview

The Home Visitor conducts one on one parenting education and community resource referrals in the homes or community settings of families with children ages 0-17, develops service plans, facilitates assessments and screenings, utilizes and follows program model to fidelity, maintains client chart & computer chart records, attends regular trainings and meetings, conducts outreach to engage families in the program and facilitates Family Resource Center events, classes, groups and activities.

What You Will Do

Conduct home and community visits to assigned families and children, document notes from visits, provide and adhere to the program curriculum and model, plan and facilitate groups and classes in the Family Resource Center, work with families to empower them to engage in problem solving, model effective parenting behavior, promote parent participation in activities designed to promote the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of their children.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Work, Child Development or Psychology
  • Two plus years related client experience, including home visitation experience
  • Bilingual fluency in written, and spoken language in English and one of the following: Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Russian or Spanish
  • Strong administrative, time management and organizational skills
  • Clear, effective and respectful verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of child abuse issues and family dynamics, substance abuse issues and treatment, domestic violence issues and resources, community resources, and human development
