Job Description
MoMA PS1 is seeking a Board and Government Relations Associate to manage key relationships across the museum’s nonprofit Board and public stakeholders, ensuring high-level governance and the successful pursuit of public support. The role involves government relations, board governance, and administrative support.

Requirements

  • At least two years of work experience in nonprofit administration, government affairs, or public policy.
  • Strategic and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to navigate complex political environments and manage strict compliance deadlines.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex policy or institutional information for public audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, execute at a high level, and adapt to a fast-paced environment, while balancing individual priorities with a collaborative approach to shared decision-making and responsibility.
  • Exceptional judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive situations and matters.
  • Ability to participate in events during evenings and weekends.
  • Passion for and understanding of PS1’s mission and program and the contemporary art ecosystem.
  • Ability to speak one of the top five (5) languages spoken in Queens, NY (Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Korean, Russian) is an asset.
