Role OverviewThe Bookkeeper will assist in processing payments and revenue receipts, manage banking operations, and review special expenses for various commands. The role is part of the Fiscal Control Section, which oversees the financial operations of the New York City Police Department. The Bookkeeper will work in partnership with the community to enforce the law and maintain order in New York City.
What You Will Do
The Bookkeeper's duties include vendor invoicing and payments, revenue collection, and special projects. The role requires analyzing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding issues.

Requirements
- Completion of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university, including 6 credits in accounting
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and two years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience
- A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above
