Role Overview

The Budget Specialist for Program Expenses performs complex staff services work, planning, coordinating, and performing work in several staff services functions such as Human resources, accounting, budgeting, purchasing, training, records management, and property management. The role involves working independently and assisting other staff in performing work of greater complexity.

What You Will Do

The Budget Specialist will oversee Statewide requisition budget coding and processing for the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) division, analyze and develop improvements to practices and procedures supporting program operations, and assist with operational expense budget management.

Requirements

  • One year and six months of full-time experience in business management, human resource administration, budget preparation or control, or a related staff services function.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business management, budget preparation or control, and public or business administration, or a related field is generally preferred.
  • 8 years of full-time experience in office management, business management, human resource administration, procurement, purchase requisitions, and budget preparation work.
