Role Overview

This position plays a key role in ensuring assigned facilities, buildings, grounds, and systems remain safe, functional, well maintained, and mission ready. As a Building Maintenance Superintendent 1, you will lead facility maintenance operations and supervise staff responsible for maintaining assigned buildings, grounds, and related systems.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include: leading and supervising day-to-day maintenance operations for assigned facilities, grounds, and related systems; planning and coordinating repair, renovation, and maintenance projects; overseeing maintenance issues involving building systems and infrastructure; and carrying out full supervisory responsibilities consistent with State of Ohio expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience supervising staff in a facilities, maintenance, construction, or building operations environment
  • Experience coordinating maintenance, repair, renovation, or building operations work
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, manuals, and technical instructions
  • Ability to prepare reports, records, and written documentation
  • Ability to communicate clearly with employees, leadership, contractors, and facility stakeholders
  • Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
