Job Description
Role Overview

The Building Plans Examiner is responsible for ensuring equal opportunity in employment and conducting examinations of building permit applications to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and other regulations.

What You Will Do

The examiner will review blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals, and shop drawings, prepare written and electronic reports, and issue notices of correction.

Requirements

  • Licensed General Contractor's for a minimum of five (5) years
  • State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building
  • State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building
  • ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification in building
  • Certified or certifiable as a Building Plans Examiner by the Miami Dade and/or the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA)
