Role OverviewThe Bureau Chief leads the Crime Victims Assistance Bureau (CVAB) in providing direct services to crime victims throughout Bronx County. The Chief manages a team of staff, including managers, advocates, therapists, and specialized components and programs. The role requires ongoing interaction with the District Attorney, Executive Staff, and community agencies. The Chief must possess strong leadership skills, knowledge of the criminal justice system, and experience working with underserved populations.
What You Will Do
The Chief will supervise, train, and oversee a multi-site Bureau with 45+ staff. They will meet with the CVAB leadership team and staff to foster a supportive environment, advocate for crime victims, and improve tracking and reporting of victim services. The Chief will also develop and manage grant funding for CVAB programs, collaborate with other agencies, and educate and train staff and community groups on trauma-informed and victim-centered best practices.

Requirements
- An Advanced Degree related to Criminal Justice and/or Licensed Social Work credentials from an accredited college
- A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience
- A minimum of 5 years providing direct services to crime victims
- Must have a knowledge of the diversity and complexity of Bronx County
- Must possess a valid NY State Driver’s License
- Must be able to travel
