Role Overview

Metabolon is seeking a highly strategic and motivated individual to prospect, drive, and close opportunities in the biopharma, consumer products, agriculture, animal health and nutrition, wellness, and academic and government research markets. This business development role will further position Metabolon as the leading provider of metabolomics services for all research and commercial applications in the assigned territory.

What You Will Do

Meet quarterly and annual bookings targets through strategic territory planning, exhibition of sales drivers, and a high level of prospecting. Identify customer and market needs, advocate Metabolon's technology to develop a broader awareness, understanding, and collaboration potential within each account.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of business development experience in the life sciences services space with a proven track record, and experience in the 'omics space or laboratory experience in a metabolomics core lab is highly desired.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field required
  • 3-5+ years business development experience in the life sciences services space with a proven track record
  • Experience in the 'omics space or laboratory experience in a metabolomics core lab is highly desired
  • Demonstrated strategic selling proficiency
  • Completion of professional sales training preferred (e.g. Miller Heiman, Challenger Sales, Value Selling)
  • Demonstrated strong prospecting skills in finding and developing own leads
  • Experience in leading and completing commercial contracts and sales negotiations with universities, research institutes and/or commercial companies
  • Excellent written and oral communication and compelling presentation skills required
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams both internally and externally to manage and implement complex partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to lead sales situations within complex environments
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize data into insightful information
  • Attention to detail, strong time management skills, superior work ethic, and a self-starter capable of working independently
  • Proven ability to own and manage multiple key accounts and meet quarterly sales quota goals
  • Proficiency with CRM, preferably Salesforce.com, and Microsoft Office Suite software
