Role Overview

The selected candidate will provide legal counsel, contract drafting and negotiating services to ACS. The Business Law Unit Attorney will work under direction and supervision, with some latitude for independent judgment, to provide legal counsel and contract services to ACS. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and interpreting contracts, as well as providing legal counsel on business, contract, and procurement law matters.

What You Will Do

Specific duties will include drafting, reviewing, and interpreting contracts, providing legal counsel on business, contract, and procurement law matters, and serving as a liaison to the Law Department. The role also involves analyzing and identifying complicated legal problems, formulating legal briefs and memorandums, and assisting with the training of new Agency Attorneys.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have one year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar, or six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne. The candidate must remain a Member of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment.

Requirements

  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar
  • Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086)
  • One year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment
  • Two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment
