Role OverviewThe Buyer I will drive the advancement of supply chain processes and daily activities of material replenishment systems to meet customer demands. This role will lead tactical efforts towards the achievement of Strategic Plan objectives, with a strong emphasis on cost reduction. The Buyer I is the plant's subject matter expert who will facilitate supplier and product qualifications.
What You Will Do
Support on-time customer delivery, meet inventory turn objectives, solicit competitive proposals, evaluate RFQs, prepare sourcing recommendations, create purchase orders, facilitate changes and expedite POs, reconcile pending invoices, update master file records, take ownership of order processing, participate in strategic sourcing decisions, outline MRO purchasing activities, resolve issues, collaborate with plant personnel/departments, develop and monitor standard costs, streamline processes, and manage Ad hoc projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a business discipline or combination of experience and education, <1 year procurement experience, procurement/supply chain negotiating experience in an industrial environment, proficiency with MS OS and general purchasing software solutions, experience with JDE/Oracle, inventory control programs, and manufacturing equipment and systems.
