Role OverviewThe Buyer II is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the Company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. The Buyer II position combines both the function of Purchasing and Materials Planning. Under moderate supervision, actively support Alamo Group and AGAA objectives by ensuring best value, delivery performance and quality for goods, services and production materials required by the Company.
What You Will Do
Enter and update supply chain parameters, purchase orders and all pertinent information into the JDE ERP system. Evaluate and manage exception reports on a weekly basis. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight terms and any other issue pertaining to cost with assigned supply base. Ensure pricing and supplier information is always updated in the JDE ERP system.

Must be competent or willing to become competent in JDE ERP system. Ability to handle most complex component/commodity purchases for production material, service material, and MRO items. Generally, high number of SKU’s and/or Suppliers but medium dollar expenditure and risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Supply Chain Management or a related field
- 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years of supply chain (purchasing, scheduling etc.) experience
- Professional supply chain certification or working towards (CPIM, CPSM, etc)
- Ability to handle most complex component/commodity purchases for production material, service material, and MRO items
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in a genuine, professional, courteous manner while dealing with vendors and customers (internal and external)
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload
- Ability to reason, to use good judgment, and to resolve problems quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task
