Role OverviewConnects, rearranges, repairs, and maintains outside cable; climbs poles, works aloft on platforms, and under ground in manholes, cable vaults, and ditches. Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Will Do
Wears safety apparel, loads tools and equipment, connects and rearranges cable facilities, tests for and locates cable trouble, works with open flame and hot liquids, reads and interprets work prints, climbs poles, and operates power equipment.

Requires ability to distinguish true colors, normal hearing, climbing poles/ladders up to 60 feet, frequent lifting up to 75 pounds, and prolonged standing and off-balanced positioning while working aloft.
Requirements
- Tests – Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company
- Must be able to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations
- Previous experience as a Cable Splicer Helper or other related experience
- Must have ability to distinguish true colors
- Normal hearing; must be able to distinguish tones
- Requires climbing poles/ladders up to 60 feet
- Requires frequent lifting up to 75 pounds; occasional lifting up to 150 pounds
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to drive vehicle with manual gear shift
