Job Description
Role Overview

As a CADD/BIM Designer at HDR, you will support Transit Engineers and Transit Project Managers with the production of drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using CAD software. You will maintain client-specific CAD standards and workspaces, develop basic construction quantities from designs, and create 3D models of freight railroad track/civil projects and other Building Information Modeling (BIM) tasks to support the development of railroad projects.

What You Will Do

Your typical projects will be for railway, transit, and highway projects. You will perform other duties as needed.

We are looking for candidates with a strong attention to detail and organization skills, knowledge of standard CAD Software, and a basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts, workflows, and deliverables. Preference is given to candidates currently residing in the NY Metropolitan Area.

Requirements

  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Knowledge of standard CAD Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts, workflows, and deliverables
