Role OverviewThe Cafeteria Food Tech prepares food using standardized recipes, accurate measurements, and correct food preparation techniques. They must also maintain safe and sanitary kitchen and equipment, serve correct food portions, and accurately report and document food used and left over.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities include preparing food according to time schedules, monitoring food quality, and performing record keeping as assigned. They must also receive and date food/supply deliveries, put away inventory, and foster a harmonious team environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Previous school cafeteria experience is preferred at hire, and the ability to learn computer application programs is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Louisiana Department of Education's Professional Standards Training requirements
- Phase I training course within first year of hire
- Previous school cafeteria experience (preferred)
- Oral and written English
