Role OverviewThe Temporary Campaign Organizer is responsible for recruiting, engaging, and motivating large numbers of new people to take action on behalf of Sierra Club endorsed candidates. The Organizer regularly works outside of the office and without direct supervision to communicate with volunteers and voters, and must be able to travel to relevant communities and locations to implement campaign activities.
What You Will Do
Works independently or with staff to devise and implement campaign activities on behalf of Sierra Club endorsed candidates, identifies and recruits volunteers, engages people and develops volunteer leadership, and develops and implements engagement strategies.

Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills

- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance
- Proficient computer skills including social networking sites, word processing, and database software
- 1+ year of experience working with volunteers in the environmental movement, political campaigns, or other, similar organizations to plan and implement grassroots campaigns
- Current contacts or ability to develop contacts with environmental coalition partners in the same key media market, or comparable background
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated skill in writing and producing newsletters
