Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Valid CA Driver's License Required
  • Advanced First-Aid/CPR/AED certification Required
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification Required
  • California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services Guard Card Required
  • State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training 832 PC course Required
  • CANRA compliance requirement Required
  • Experience working in a higher education setting Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with speaking and presenting information to small and large diverse groups Required
  • Experience patrolling assigned areas for safety Required
  • Knowledge of and experience enforcing rules and regulations, security policies and procedures, applicable state and local laws, while ensuring the rights of community members Required
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Required
  • Demonstrated ability to serve and work well with diverse community members, peers and superiors Required
  • Strong ability to maintain a professional and impartial stance in all situations (especially emergencies) Required
  • Ability to handle a high degree of public contact responsibility Required
  • Proven ability to accept instructions and direction from superiors in a positive manner Required
  • Skill to accurately complete various reports and forms Required
