Job Description
Role Overview

The CAN Director will provide staffing support and direct services for the implementation of activities in support of the Coordinated Access Network homeless service delivery system for the Meriden/Middletown/Wallingford area. This role will involve coordinating CAN functions, maintaining relationships with CAN members and leadership, and supervising front-line staff. The Director will also be responsible for monitoring MMW shelter stand-by list, facilitating Housing Placement Team Meetings, and managing the MMW By-Name List.

What You Will Do

The CAN Director will coordinate Coordinated Access Network (CAN) functions, supervise front-line staff, and troubleshoot system problems. The Director will also maintain positive relationships with CAN members and leadership, and keep abreast of issues and trends in homeless services and related social services.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have experience in housing case management and/or community organizing, as well as advocacy, facilitation skills, and fund development. The Director will also need to be familiar with HMIS and Shelter Diversion, and have strong computer skills, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field
  • Minimum of two years experience in housing case management and/or community organizing
