CANS Assessment Associate

We are seeking a CANS Assessment Associate to conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth. The CANS Assessor will complete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessments, coordinate with families, providers, and community partners, and connect youth to appropriate services and specialty programs.

What You Will Do

Conduct comprehensive CANS assessments for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth in virtual, home, school, and community settings. Build and maintain knowledge of the organization and OhioRISE referral pathways and specialty program offerings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Current Ohio CANS certification or ability to certify within the first 21 days of employment
• 2-3 years of experience in community mental health, child welfare, or a closely related human services setting
• Advanced communication skills, both oral and written
• Advanced organizational skills
• Knowledge of child and adolescent behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and family systems
• Ability to bill Medicaid without restrictions
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Ability to adhere to all safety, rules, regulations and requirements
• Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and compliance requirements
• Access to reliable transportation
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
• An appropriate level of auto insurance coverage
• Ability to manage deadlines within a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment
• Ability to maintain high-speed internet connection
