Role OverviewJoin the NYC Department of Transportation's Budget and Capital Program Management (BCPM) / Capital Budget Unit (CBU) team to contribute to the management, development, and execution of DOT's $34 billion, ten-year capital program. The position will support the Director and Assistant Director in various capital budget functions, with opportunities to take on independent work and serve as a lead analyst for one or more capital program areas.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include analyzing new capital need proposals, supporting Capital Plan updates and Capital Commitment Plan submissions, facilitating Certificate-to-Proceed (CP) approvals, tracking project delivery and performance, analyzing inactive encumbrances, supporting capital project mapping and Asset Information Management System (AIMS) reporting, tracking Mayoral initiatives, and preparing ad-hoc reports and analyses for management.

The analyst should be comfortable working with large datasets, developing clear and effective spreadsheets and presentations, conducting research and forecasting for updates to the City's Financial Management System (FMS), and coordinating with OMB, DOT divisions, and other City agencies.
Requirements
- baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning
- graduate education in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or related fields may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience
