Job Description
The Cardiac First Assist works under the direction and supervision of the attending physician to provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.

Requirements

  • RNFA
  • Graduation of approved RN Program
  • Completion of state approved RNFA course
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
  • Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)
  • Surgical Assistant
  • National certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
  • Physician Assistant
  • Associate's Degree in healthcare related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field
  • Master's Degree in healthcare related field
  • Current license to practice in Ohio
  • Professional Certifications as required by OSMB- additional certifications
