Role OverviewThis position is for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching position in Carpentry. The incumbent is responsible for teaching the assigned career and technical subject(s) to students at a correctional institution/facility. The goal is to enhance inmates' academic, vocational, and life skills, thereby promoting personal development and successful reintegration into society.
What You Will Do
Plans, develops, and conducts classes in assigned subjects, utilizing various teaching techniques to assist student advancement. Evaluates student progress, administers grades and tests, and counsel’s individuals on program progress, behavior, or personal concerns.

Must hold the applicable subject area license or industry certification or be willing to possess within 12 months of hire. Possess or be eligible to apply for a Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator’s Certificate or if applicable a temporary State of Florida Educator's Certificate.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years’ experience in the CTE subject area being taught
- Possession of current licensure or certification(s) in the CTE being taught or a postsecondary certificate of completion
- Must hold the applicable subject area license or industry certification or be willing to possess within 12 months of hire
- Possess or be eligible to apply for a Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator’s Certificate or if applicable a temporary State of Florida Educator's Certificate
